Geoff Mirantz Recommends Dan's Mobile Home Service,
Meredith, NH
(603) 279-5806.
Recently I employed Dan Sullivan of Dan’s Mobile Home Service in Meredith.
We wanted him to check under our mobile home to see if there was anything that
needed attention. He confirmed that the house was sinking front and back and
that it was relatively normal, but that without a slab underneath that was
going to happen. He said everything was intact that should be intact.
He did point out that the skirting around the back patio could be made to
be more attractive and the only really bad item was the sun room support off
the back. There was definitely insufficient bracing underneath.
He gave me an estimate for $575 to put sufficient bracing for the sun room
and to fix the skirting around the patio.
He was a few days late in starting the job because of truck problems (been
there done that). But he called and let me know what was going on. He completed
the work in one day and what a difference in the stability in the sun room! The
skirting looks like it should and isn’t caving in everywhere.
I asked for an estimate on replacing the roof and he gave me a verbal for
$6500. I am waiting for a written estimate to give to the bank. He said I
should get it Tuesday or Wednesday.
If you are in a hurry for a job to be done, Dan is probably not your best
choice; however, if you want a superior job done in a somewhat more relaxed
timeframe and about as inexpensively as you can find, I would highly recommend
Dan Sullivan of Dan’s Mobile Home Service in Meredith to do your job.

Greg Kerr Recommends Angelo Morello
Billerica MA
(978) 601-3061
The guy I am using for my roof is Angelo Morello from Billerica, MA. He is
slow, but he's doing a good job and using quality materials. He took off my
entire sun room (it was beyond repair) and is redoing my entire roof, (removing
two layers of shingles, ripping out some unused vents in the ceiling, and
adding a ridge vent). The total price of the job, including the demolition and
the hauling away of the sun room is $5250. I think the roof alone was going to
cost $3300. He is definitely not the guy to use if in a rush (but then again,
to his credit, the weather has been bad the last few days).
Keep in mind he actually hasn't finished my job yet, so I can't give you my 100%
guarantee, but he has been good so far, just very slow (between the rain and
now he is telling me he is sick, which he probably got from working in the
rain). But the way I see it, even if it takes three times as long but half the
price, that is a deal I'm willing to make.

Checking Under Your Mobil Home
We hired Keith to cut down 3 evergreens and pull up a bunch of out of control vines which were growing under the siding on the garage. He also created a flower bed there and around the flagpole. He did all this for just over $250. Joan and I were so happy with his work, we hired him to check under the trailer for any critter damage. He said there was a little work needing to be done and he's charging much less than expected. He doesn't do electrical or plumbing, but can get under the trailer to see what it needs. Give him a call, you won't by unhappy!

James Garcia
A&J Appliance Repair
(603) 296-5657
We just had our dishwasher and dryer repaired by James Garcia, owner of A & J Appliance Repair. His phone number is (603)296-5657. He charges $60 for a trip charge (compared to $90 - $135 for "the big boys"). He succeeding in fixing what was wrong in 45 minutes and charged us for only 3/4 of an hour ($60, total including service call was $120). On the dryer, he said to baby it until it died because it was going to be expensive. His work was excellent, he was honest and he cleaned up after himself.
I recommend A & J if you need out-of-warranty service.
